Lac de la Motte
The lake is also known as Lac de la Motte, because it has an island or motte. The island was linked to the land by a causeway, now submerged, but whose traces can be traced by the rushes that cover it. Archaeological digs have shown that the motte was inhabited as far back as the Neolithic period, and a monastery was established there around.
